Story of a family, story of a choice
In 2018, the Dell’Acqua family decided to breathe new life into the lands of Pozzol Groppo, a gem of the Alessandria area just an hour from Milan, driven by the desire to restore meaning and a future to a land long tied to agricultural work. The idea was born from a simple belief: that respect for nature, time, and roots can become a way of living and producing.
Thus was born Tenuta della Cascinassa: the result of a conscious family choice, made of daily commitment and a vision for the future, holding together what this land has been and what it can become.
Learn MoreTerritory: Our Colli Tortonesi
At Tenuta della Cascinassa, in the heart of the Colli Tortonesi hills, sustainability is born from respect for the land that hosts us.
We apply circular economy practices to reduce waste, protect biodiversity, and enhance every natural resource, so that our wine may tell a story not only of quality but also of harmony with our land.
Sustainability and Territory
Caring for the land, day after day
At Tenuta della Cascinassa, every choice stems from a simple idea: caring for the land as one would for something precious.
We cultivate in respect of its rhythms, valuing its diversity and preserving its balance through measured, constant, and deeply rooted gestures. Biodiversity is an integral part of our work, and every element of the estate has a role to play — from the vine to the forest, from the animals to the grass growing between the rows.
We have chosen a mixed and integrated agriculture, where vineyards, pastures, trees, and animals coexist in a natural way. The landscape is not altered but accompanied. Production is not forced but follows what the land is ready to offer.
Il Timorasso, the return of an ancient voice
Timorasso is the grape variety that, more than any other, expresses the soul of the Colli Tortonesi. Cultivated since the Middle Ages, it was once the finest white wine of these lands, then known as Derthona — the ancient Roman Tortona.
